Filmmakers from more 45 countries have submitted 1072 films to the LIsFE 2012 competitions and we are still registering in a few latecomers.
Thanks a lot dearest filmmakers for your participation and talent; this year LIsFE will be once more truly international!
The reviewing process has started; about 20 films already made it through our tough selection!
The films selected for the final competition will be announced on our website around mid-may and screened during the 4th edition of LIsFE in Leiden, the Saturday 9th of June 2012 during the Leiden weeks of culture.

CULTUURWEKEN

After the success of the cultuur maand in June 2011 of which LIsFE was part of, the Leiden city and the Leiden CULTUUR FONDS have decided to engage in a similar adventure for 2012, this time named Leiden cultuur weken 2012.
These weeks of culture will take place between May and July 2012 and will gather hundreds of cultural activities: concerts, theater performances, art exhibition, and a short-film festival!

Encouraged by an exquisite LIsFE 2011 vintage, the LIsFE organization team has decided to take on for a 4th edition of this unique festival dedicated to the most vibrant form of cinema: short films!
On a thunderstormic day of June 2011, the 3rd edition of LIsFE gathered 400 visitors around a selection of 47 shorts from 28 countries in the historic and charming location of the former kaasmarkt school. The competition for best film in the professional and cinema school student categories was fierce and we are very proud of our winners: check the 2011 films page to know who they are.
In 2012, and for a 4th edition of our festival we will offer you again a one-day marathon of the best and freshest short films from all around the globe as well as many other suprises.
